Reading 2010.

  • I laughed.
  • I ate.
  • I sang so loudly.
  • I cuddled and kissed.
  • I sweated.
  • I met The Mystery Jets.
  • I danced like a maniac.
  • I smiled.
  • I didn't wash for days.
  • I screamed.
  • I had the most amazing weekend with my Fella.

Time off.

Good morning all,

I have decided as I have five weeks off I will blog a lot more. I've been thinking about improving this blog for a while now. My posts had been few and far between due to long shifts and essay writing, but now I have time to dedicate I shall. I've been reading a lot more blogs recently. I read about 23 blogs on a daily basis. I prefer a good old blog to a magazine any time. But yes, I've been reading these amazing blogs and mine is frankly lacking in quantity and quality. So yes much more typing and picture taking.

On unrelated a note, I am silly poor again. How does this happen to me? Every month I seem to be coming up a bit short. Although I did spurge 80 pounds on a rather fetching fur coat from Topshop. But that was needed, if anything it was against my human rights not to purchase such a perfect creation. Luckily I have a job interview tomorrow for some more shifts. Fingers crossed that it goes well.

Just a short one today. Laters potaters.

Ahhh

Finally I find myself having some time off, five weeks to be exact with no shifts or essays. Clasping a copy of Eat Pray Love in my hands at every available moment and spending some lovely time with the Fella. It has already been very relaxing.

After a weekend spent at V festival I have decided that I am definitely a bit of an old soul. I'm thinking for next years festivals something along the lines of The Big Chill or Latitude. I don't think I'm cut out for the classic Essex-ness of V. I don't drink much now-a-days and I'm pretty sure you've got to be off-your-face-drunk to enjoy V to the extreme.

Nevertheless I am off to Reading Festival this weekend, again I probably won't be drinking and if I do it will be most likely a fruit cedar of some description. We're setting off Thursday morning and coming home Monday. I am truly dreading the prospect of not washing, especially my hair. I have almost packed my bag, in a tapestry style bag which I think my grandma gave to me. I'm planning on wearing a fairisle cardigan there and will probably not take it off all weekend. Wellington boots are obviously a must and I have some high waisted denim shorts to wear and a few summer dresses. Note to self: must pack leggings. I should defiantly remember to take some books and other things to keep myself amused. I was considering taking my knitting but I must say I'm worried about it getting ruined. I'm not sure if fellow festival go-ers will share my sobriety. There shall be no vomit near/in my tent. Luckily The Fella shares this same view when it comes to alcohol. We're 2010's answer to Sid & Nancy.

This to be quite honest is my first real festival. I am hoping to meet up with my very good friend while at Reading, she's a local. The Fella and I have already sorted out what food we'll be taking, we've managed to sort out four days worth of food for roughly 15 pound a head, which otherwise could buy you 3 portions of curly fries while at the festival. Now that's what a call living on a shoestring. India Knight's "The Thrift Book" has taught me well, especially the camping section.

That's all. I will leave you with my favourite song at the moment. The Mystery Jets -The Girl is Gone.

The Future Is Looking Good.

Ahh, I am a third of the way through of my working week. With two long days ahead of me (14 hour shifts). I am really looking forward to the weekend and my time off.
I have made quite a lot of plans for the next few weeks. Firstly I am heading off to V festival in Chelmsford, nice and local. Then to Reading Festival, not so local, also my first proper camping festival. Then finally ROME! Definitely not local. I seriously cannot wait. I am very under prepared for all of these events. Although I have been making a notebook full of things for Rome, places to eat and go etc etc. So there is hope that me and The Fella will have a wonderful time.

In other news, I have nearly finished my first year of university. AHHH! I'm going to be a second year in October. So in my four weeks off, I shall try and study my ass off! Time really flies when you're having fun!

That's all for now.
xx
