I have no idea how to get through it other than breaking the day into small chunks and looking forward to the next break.
I've made a cheese and pickle sandwich for one of my breaks but will be off shopping today to buy some healthy (and not so healthy) goodies to take with me.
I just think if I do three 14 hour shifts, I'll be finished for the week rather than doing five 8 hour shifts. That way I'll have four days off rather than two and save myself 10 pounds in parking!
I made the Hummingbird Bakery Brooklyn Blackout cake today. It is just basically a chocolate cake with an eggless chocolate custard frosting and filling. The cake was easy to make but the custard was a bit tricky, it got really gloopy and it was hard to stir in the saucepan. Above are photos of it frosted and unfrosted. I hope it's nice!!
The carrot cake I made yesterday. I used the Humming Bird Bakery recipe but instead of making a three layer cake, I made a two layer cake with cupcakes. I topped the cakes with cream cheese frosting then dusted with cinnamon.
Having an evening of baking as the rain pours outside. I need to remind England that it is in fact July! I've made a two layer carrot cake and five carrot cake cupcakes going to ice them in a short while I'll post pictures tomorrow!
